1. What upskillz.me is
upskillz.me is an online marketplace that connects students and parents ("Buyers") with independent tutors, instructors and coaches ("Providers"), for academic tutoring and life-skills instruction. Sessions take place in person in the United Arab Emirates or online. upskillz.me acts solely as a technical intermediary and a payment facilitator. Providers are independent professionals — not employees, agents or subcontractors of upskillz.me.
2. Accounts
You must provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure. One person, one account. Accounts are held by adults: a parent or legal guardian holds the account and attaches student profiles for any learner under 18. Direct accounts for minors are not permitted.
3. Sessions, packs and trials
Providers may offer a reduced-price trial session and packages of 5, 10, 12 or 20 sessions. A booking request expires if the Provider does not respond within 24 hours, in which case it is cancelled with no amount charged (payment is only taken after the Provider accepts). Sessions in a pack are scheduled progressively. The Provider selects an expiry within the limits allowed for the package size, and the exact validity period is shown before payment.
4. Prices, commission and payment
Providers set their own prices. upskillz.me charges the Buyer a 5% service fee. Provider commission is relationship-based: 12% for a trial, 9% for the first package between the same Buyer and Provider, and 7% for a subsequent package. A verified pre-existing paid relationship from another recognised platform may qualify that pair directly for the 7% rate. Payment-processing costs and applicable taxes are accounted for separately and shown where required. Payments are processed securely and eligible Provider earnings are released on the scheduled payout cycle after session confirmation, provided no dispute is open. Prices are shown in the listing currency; UAE in-person sessions are priced in AED.
5. Cancellations, reschedules and no-shows
Cancellation, rescheduling, no-show and pack-exit rules are set out in the Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these terms.
6. Online sessions
Online sessions take place through the video tool embedded in the platform. Join and duration logs are recorded as proof of session and may be used to confirm payout eligibility and arbitrate disputes. An external link may be used only as a fallback in case of technical incident.
7. Minors and safeguarding
All communication concerning a learner under 18 goes through the parent account; direct provider-to-minor messaging is not permitted. Providers who teach minors in person in the UAE must complete enhanced verification (Emirates ID and good conduct certificate) to obtain the "Minors-verified" badge. Any safeguarding concern can be reported in one click and is reviewed as a priority.
8. Staying on the platform
Sharing contact details to move a booking off-platform is prohibited. Phone numbers, emails, messaging handles and requests to pay off-platform are automatically blocked in chat — always, both before and after a booking — and repeated attempts are logged. Repeated circumvention leads to suspension. Booking through the platform provides secure payment handling, session support, replacement assistance where applicable and dispute review.
9. Reviews
A review may only be left after a completed session, and is published with a "Verified session" badge. Providers may post one public reply per review. Reviews are moderated; abusive, defamatory or off-topic content is removed.
10. Provider obligations
Providers warrant that they have the legal right to work in their country of residence, that their stated qualifications and certifications are genuine, and that they hold any insurance required for their activity. Higher-risk disciplines (water sports, martial arts, riding) require an explicit acknowledgement at booking.
11. Liability
upskillz.me does not deliver the teaching and gives no guarantee as to academic results or skill progression. Our liability is limited to the amounts collected on the booking concerned. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
12. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close an account in case of fraud, repeated circumvention, safeguarding concern or serious breach of these terms. Eligible earnings for sessions already delivered remain payable, subject to disputes, refunds, reversals and applicable law.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates for services delivered in the UAE. Skairocket LLC is a company registered in Delaware, United States.
