What we collect
Account data (name, email, phone, language), profile content published by Providers (bio, qualifications, presentation video), booking details (subject, dates, location or online room), messages exchanged on the platform, session reports, reviews, and payment metadata. Card details are handled directly by our payment provider — we never see or store them. We also collect technical data (device, usage, IP) for security and product improvement.
How we use it
To run the marketplace: matching, bookings, payments and payouts, messaging, reminders, reviews, fraud and circumvention prevention, support, and legal compliance. Your language preference is used to serve the site and transactional emails in your language.
Learners under 18
Student profiles are created and controlled by the parent or guardian who holds the account. We collect the minimum needed to organise sessions — first name, level, subject. Minors do not receive direct messages from Providers.
Who we share it with
With the Provider you book (first name, session details, and the exact address only after a confirmed and paid booking); with our payment provider for processing and payouts; with our video provider for online sessions; with our hosting and database provider. We never sell your data.
Session recordings and attendance
For online sessions we keep join and duration logs as proof of session. Sessions are not recorded by default.
Retention
Account data is kept while your account is open, then for the period required by accounting and tax obligations. Messages and session reports are kept for the duration of the commercial relationship plus the applicable limitation period.
Your rights
You may access, correct, export or delete your data, and object to certain processing, by writing to privacy@upskillz.me. Some data must be retained where the law requires it.
